Elastic band for side strap

Most people experience deterioration of the elastic if they have the auxiliary strap on too tight! The auxilliary strap should not be tight like a harness and that ideally, we would like it loosened as comfortably as possible. This may bring the question, "why does it exist then?" We believe the side strap in a loose position adds some form of stability or grounding effect to the player. When removed, it feels as if the strap is escaping you or not embracing you anymore. So, it exists primarily to avoid how it feels if the side auxiliary strap were not there at all. The effects of the back strap can be reaped without the need for an opposing pull coming from tightening the side strap. The back strap mainly serves to add to a sense of stability and to help for a more even surface area coverage of the leather portion of the strap on the neck/shoulder line of the strap.
